Raymond Arthur Myers II passed away January 28, 2016 in Bridgeport at the age of 68.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents Raymond A. and Mary C Myers and is survived by his wife Phyllis J. Myers, a son Bradley A. Myers (wife Elizabeth Myers) and granddaughter Alexa E. Myers.

Ray was born June 19, 1947 in Morgantown WV. He graduated from Morgantown High School in 1965 before moving on to West Virginia University and later the Radio Engineering Institute where in 1970 he graduated and received his FCC license. In 1972 Ray married Phyllis J. Anderson. Ray had also joined the US Army Reserves until he was honorably discharged in 1972 from the 354th Ordnance Company. He went on to work in broadcast engineering at local radio and television stations. Ray achieved the position of Chief Engineer at WBOY TV in Clarksburg where he worked for 34 years before he retired in 2009.

Ray loved to play music. During his time in high school Ray played in two local Morgantown bands, the Montereys and The Jemz. Following high school Ray was a successful local musician . While he was most well known for playing the keyboard, Ray could also play many other instruments including guitar. He also wrote and played original music and enjoyed playing the piano in church for special occasions.

Family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home Sunday, January 31, from 2:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. The body will lie in state at the Hepzibah Baptish Church Monday , February 1, from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11:00 with Rev. Alan Rosenberger officiating. Interment will follow at the Hepzibah Baptish Church Cemetery.
