On September 17, 2020, Ruth Carroll passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, joining her loving husband, Everett Carroll, in their eternal home in Heaven. She was born on February 7, 1933 to Lloyd Wilson and Stella Mae Poling in Grafton, WV.

She is survived by five children: LeeAnn Dean, of Morgantown, WV; Joyce Lake of Fairmont, WV, Kimberly Norris of Morgantown, WV, James Carroll of Morgantown, WV, and Robin (John) Nichols of Morgantown, WV; five grandchildren: Ian Lake (Mindy Folio) of Fairmont, WV, Alex (Amanda) Lake of Fairmont, WV, and Meredith Norris of Mission Viejo, CA; and Jackson and Hunter Nichols of Morgantown, WV; and two great-grandchildren: Alyza and Levi Lake of Fairmont, WV. In addition to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, Ruth is also survived by her sister, Mildred Weaver along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she loved immensely.

In addition to her loving husband, Everett Carroll, Ruth is preceded in death by her son-in-law, Gary Lake, and her siblings: Leroy Poling, Theodore Poling, Clyde Poling, Dessie McGrail, Bessie Poling, Jack Poling, Pauline Van Horn, Goldie Deavers, Lila Jardine, Ray Poling, and Lloyd Poling.

Ruth’s happiest days were spent on the farm with her family, whom she loved dearly and who already miss her deeply. In addition to her family, Ruth loved her Lord and Savior, and enjoyed serving Him and blessing others. She was also an avid gardener and canner, making the best salsa and tomato soup directly from vegetables from her garden.

Prior to her retirement, Ruth was a Bookkeeper at Shop ‘N Save in Westover, WV for over 30 years; working for the Mascioli family whom she loved greatly.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 12:30 PM on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at Woodsdale Memorial Park in Grafton, WV. Pastor Nate Goodin will be officiating.
The Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton is honored to server the Carroll family.

We were so sorry to hear of your loss. Diane and I have a lot of great memories of your Mom and Dad at the parties on the farm. Your Mom was a loving Christian lady and a good influence at Mt. Harmony Church. Ruth may have gone on to be with the Lord, but she will be remembered, in our family for years to come. God Bless you guys and gals and I hope to see you in Heaven. Dave Malone and family.
