Obituary for Mary Caroline Taylor (Gruet)
Mary C. Taylor, 83, of Reedsville, WV, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born in Northville, NY on October 8, 1934 a daughter of the late John Paul and Florence Verona (Dane) Gruet. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Robert James Taylor on February 19, 2004.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by three sons: Robert J. “Bob” Taylor and wife Mary of Reedsville, William J. Taylor of Canada, and Keith R. Taylor and wife Debbie of Wells, NY; two sisters: Ellen Johnson (Gene) of MS and Shirley Little of NY; one brother Walter “Gibby” Gruet (Linda) of NY; five grandchildren: Amy Taylor, Shawn Taylor, Caleb Taylor (Kerry), Chelsie Taylor (Amanda), and Amanda Bell (Derek), and eleven great-grandchildren: Scarlett, Gracie, Logan, Scarlet, Owen, Nick, Avery, Jordan, Shawn, Justin, and Nico. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband Mary was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister: Robert, Chuck, Junior, and Eva.
Mary was Methodist by faith and retired from Ames where she worked in the jewelry department. She was a longtime member of the Ladies Oriental Shrine and the Eastern Star. Mary was an avid reader and loved animals. Mrs. Taylor was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Mary’s wishes for cremation will be honored and a Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton, WV on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 11am until 12Noon.
