Georgia Marie Blosser McDaniels, age 91, departed this life to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 15th, 2017. She was born in Preston County on June 11th, 1926 to William Henry Blosser and Minnie Edna Schoonover-Blosser. Georgia was preceded in death by her husband Charles Edward McDaniels, on April 12th, 1982.
Survivors include 3 daughters: Karen Sue Duckworth, Glenna (David) Carpenter, and Debra (Roy) Young, all of Grafton; 5 grandchildren: David Glen (Tracy) Carpenter, Ripley, WV; Cassie (Micky) Conner, Shannon (Aaron) Joyce, all of Grafton, WV; Charles (Stephanie) Waters, Dyess AFB, Abilene, TX, and Trevor Waters, Rivesville, WV, and 2 step-granddaughters: Amanda Hoff and Jessica Shumake, both of Thornton, WV; and 17 great grandchildren. Surviving siblings include: Bonnie Shingleton, of Flat Rock, Michigan, and Billy Blosser, of Weston, WV, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Georgia was preceded in death by 11 siblings: Wilfred Blosser, Mildred Hansford, Willard Blosser, William Blosser, Pauline Miller, Juanita Martin, Wanda Newlon, Rosella Simmons, Betty Hull, Samuel Blosser and one brother, Jackey Dale Blosser, MIA- Korean War.
Georgia owned and operated the Fab-Craft craft shop on Maple Avenue in Grafton from 1982 until 2006. She was a Christian for many years and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and also had an affiliation with the New Testament Fellowship. She enjoyed singing with her family, playing the guitar, attending family reunions, and spending time with her family. A jigsaw puzzle was always on her dining room table.
The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton, WV on Thursday, July 20th, 2017 from 2:00-8:00 p.m., and from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Friday.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 10:45 a.m. on Friday, July 21st, 2017, with Pastor Michel Boyer and Pastor Jimmy Johnson officiating.
Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery, in Pruntytown, WV.
