Obituary for Maxine G Alexander (Dixon)


Maxine Grace (Dixon) Alexander 97 of Betty Ave. Grafton, WV passed away Friday Sept. 19, 2014 at her residence.
She was born March 8, 1917 in Grafton, WV, a daughter of the late
Spencer Elbert and Ivy Iona Grace (Whitehair) Dixon.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Esket Walter Alexander, who passed away on Oct. 11, 1998.

She is survived by two children, Patricia A. Boyce of Grafton, David W. Alexander and wife Vicki of Omaha, Ne; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and also survived by several nieces & nephews.
Maxine was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

In addition to her husband she is preceded in death by one grandson, Ronald Alexander; three sisters, Margarite Dixon, Mary Virginia Gerard and Ruth Sayre; and two brothers, Franklin Dixon and Howard Dixon.

Maxine graduated from Grafton High School and then worked as a sales clerk at Clark Dept. Store in Baltimore, Md.
She was a member of the Blueville Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed her family.

Family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton, Monday Sept. 22, 2014 from 4:00- 8:00 pm.
Funeral service will be held at the funeral home Tuesday Sept 23, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Robert L. Oakley officiating.
Interment will follow at the Mt. Morris Cemetery in Barbour County.
