Obituary for John Henry Tawney

John H. Tawney, age 90 of Thornton Pike, Thornton, WV (formerly of Baltimore) passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014 at the Rosewood Healthcare Center.
He was born in Baltimore, MD on February 11, 1924 a son of the late Andy and Margaret (Horner) Tawney.

He is survived by one son, Phillip Andrew “Andy” Tawney and wife Cheryl Ann of Thornton.
John was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Nellie E. Tawney and his second wife, Mary Jacob Tawney, one brother and five sisters.

John was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean Conflict and a warehouse worker for Baltimore Auto Supply for 30 years. He enjoyed his family and gardening and was Methodist by faith.

There will be no funeral home visitation.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. at the Woodsdale Memorial Park Cemetery on Wednesday, May 7, 2014.
