Paula Marlene  Thompson
Paula Marlene Thompson, age 76 of West Main Street, Grafton, WV passed away Saturday, January 28, 2017 at her home with her family by her side.
She was born August 27, 1940 in Claremore, OK a daughter of the late Frank Aaron Thompson and Martha Elizabeth (Mallory) Thompson.

She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie M. Vance and husband, David Mark Vance of Grafton; two granddaughters, Martha E. McGuffey of Columbus, OH and Lucinda L. Poling and husband Kenneth, of Grafton; one grandson, Daniel L. McGuffey, Jr. and wife Melissa, of Grafton; three great-granddaughters, Rielee P. McGuffey, Naomi G. Poling and Arya H. McGuffey; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Cynthia Lynn Sullivan; one sister, Bonnie Geraldine Thompson Fields; and three brothers, John Wayne Fields, James William Hathaway, and Jack Wade Hathaway.

Paula graduated from Claremore High School in Claremore, OK with the Class of 1958 and then from the University of Arkansas with a degree in Computer Science. She worked as a computer programmer, computer analyst, and Lan administrator for several different companies over the years including Rockwell International, University of Arkansas Medical Science (UAMS), Affiliated Foods and then at the Farm Bureau of Arkansas.
She was a veteran of the United States Navy and the United States Air Force.
She was also a member of the Blueville United Methodist Church in Grafton.

Paula enjoyed seeing her grandchildren, talking with them about the military and computers. She also enjoyed reading and knitting.

The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Wednesday, February 1st. from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Thursday.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Matt Holbert officiating.
Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery in Pruntytown.
Military graveside services will be conducted by the Taylor County Honor Guard and the Navy Operational Support Center from Pittsburgh, PA
In lieu of flowers the family wishes donations be made in Paula’s name to Amedisys Hospice at 67 Casino Drive, Anmore, WV 26323
