"Dougie"  Rogers
Marvin Douglas “Dougie” Rogers, age 57 of West Washington Street, Grafton, WV passed away Sunday, December 25, 2016 at the Wallace B. Murphy Nursing Care Facility.
He was born May 27, 1959 in Grafton, WV, a son of Marvin Augustus Rogers and the late Jean Frances (Ringler) Rogers.
He is survived by his sister, Julia Ann Rogers Rawls of Grafton; two nephews, Bobby Gerald Rawls, III and wife, Giulianna of Morgantown and Jared Trent Rawls of Huntington; and one niece, Jesse Taylor Rawls Farrell and husband, Cory of Kingwood.

Dougie graduated from Grafton High School with the Class of 1980 where he was a member of the GHS Pep Band and the school choir. He was a former Janitor at the Taylor County Courthouse and was an honorary member of the Grafton Fire Department. He was a manager of the Grafton High School Football and Baseball Teams; lifetime supporter of the Grafton Social Center; the Grafton Rotary Club Citizen of the Year; Grafton Citizen of the Year; Harrison County Citizen of the Year; a Special Olympics participant and lit the State Special Olympic Torch.

He was a member of the First Grace Brethren Church of Grafton, had faithful attendance and was an usher. He was a counselor at Camp Albryoca in Meyersdale, PA.

Dougie enjoyed building model cars and trucks, flying model airplanes, train sets, playing the trumpet, enjoyed working at Ron Williams Mobile Station in Grafton, a watch collector, enjoyed swimming and roller skating, a lifelong railroad enthusiast; and enjoyed family activities. He will always be remembered for his smile.

The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Thursday, December 29th from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Friday.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, December 30. 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Mike Willis officiating.
Interment will follow at the Woodsdale Memorial Park Cemetery in Grafton.
In lieu of flowers, family and friends are encouraged to make donations to the St. Augustine Social Center
