Clarice M.   Ervin (Frederick)
Clarice M. (Frederick) Ervin, age 108 of Rose Street (formerly of East Main Street) Grafton, WV passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016 at the Rosewood Health Care Center in Grafton.
She was born August 6, 1908 in Independence, WV a daughter of the late Leslie A. and Bessie (Brown) Frederick.

She is survived by one brother, Ivan L. “Red” Frederick of Mt. Lake Park, MD and several nieces and nephews from four generations.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert M. Ervin who died in June 1957 and also served in World War I; one sister, Fern Mason; two brothers, Leslie Frederick and Maurice Glenn Frederick, who died in infancy.

Clarice attended Newburg High School, and was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Clarice lived outside Gladesville, including Brown’s Chapel, where she taught piano lessons for many years.
She was active in the Strawberry Festival in Gladesville which was first held in 1948. Clarice worked along side her community, helping to organize and share her love of music by providing processional and recessional music.
Family and friends were by far the dearest things in life for Clarice. She simply enjoyed being with people and sharing her love, laughter, and spirit.
Clarice was such an amazing sister, aunt, teacher, friend…. Loved by all!
A special thanks goes out to the Rosewood staff who became her “family” in 2007.

The family will receive friends at the Ebenezer Baptist Church on Friday, November 11, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Ronald G. Ford officiating.
Interment will follow at the Gladesville Cemetery.
