Ruth V. (McCartney) Breedlove, age 97 a lifelong resident of Grafton, WV passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the home of Lonnie and Donna Mayle.
She was born March 19, 1919 in Grafton, WV a daughter of the late Wesley Chidister McCartney and Anna Bertha (Custer) McCartney.

She is survived by one niece, Kay Toth and husband Frank, of Grafton and also survived by several great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Ralph “Bud” Breedlove who passed away November 5, 2015 and together they shared a loving and happy marriage of 68 years; one brother, Robert Glenn McCartney; and one niece, Jo Anna Pratt.

Ruth graduated from Grafton High School with the Class of 1936. Shewas employed by several federal and state agencies over the years including the National Youth Administration, Works Progress Administration, Dept. of Public Assistance, State Employment Service and her last employment was with the Taylor County Board of Education, where she was a secretary for 28 years.
She was a life member of Andrews Methodist Church that later became the Church of the Good Shepherd where she was active in several departments of the church.

The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Friday, November 4th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Saturday.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bert Coffman officiating.
Interment will follow at the Woodsdale Memorial Park Cemetery in Grafton.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to the Taylor County Humane Society P.O. Box 4 Grafton, WV 26354
