Betty Jean “Nanny” (Weaver) Goff, age 87 of Oak Grove Road, Independence, WV passed away Monday, October 10, 2016 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport.
She was born October 1, 1929 in Grafton, WV a daughter of the late Noble Kenneth Weaver and Ella Mae (Bolyard) Weaver.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years, Ervin Shaw Goff; three daughters, Barbara Jean Journic and husband John, of Carmichaels, PA, Darlene Stevens and husband, Guy of Independence, and Ellen Kay Hulley and husband Jimmy, of Grafton; seven grandchildren, Tricia Hardman of Bridgeport, John Journic and wife Tamara, of Greensboro, PA, Lisa Peters of Grafton, Jessie Stevens of Morgantown, Ashley Stevens of Grafton, and Cathy Shipp of Grafton, and Justin Shipp also of Grafton; seven great-grandchildren, Halie and Macie Hardman, Emily Peters, Liam Stevens, Jamen and Brayden McVicker, and Kaylee Shipp; one great-great granddaughter, Latasha Wilson; one sister, Karen Shaw and husband Eddie, of Grafton; special cousin, Doris Heldreth of Independence; and one nephew, Jamie White of Suffolk, VA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Richard Goff and William Ervin Goff and one great-granddaughter, Abigail Spiker.

Betty Jean graduated from Grafton High School with the Class of 1947.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister to her family.
She was a lifelong member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church and attended the Independence Baptist Church.
Betty Jean enjoyed her family, crocheting, and painting ceramics.

The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Tuesday, October 11th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Wednesday.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Carl Trickett officiating.
Interment will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Independence.
