Donald Ray  Poling
Donald Ray Poling, age 89 of Blueville Drive, Grafton, WV went to be the Lord on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Wallace B. Murphy Nursing Home in Grafton.
He was born June 1, 1926 in Grafton, WV the son of the late Roy Charles Poling and Hazel (Shaffer) Poling.

He is survived by one daughter, Deborah S. Ford of Grafton and one son, Donald Jeffrey “Jeff” Poling of Painsville, OH; seven grandchildren, Laura Donn Ice and husband, Jeff of Grafton, Michael Joseph “Joe” Jenkins of Pittsburgh, PA, Brittney Donn Ford of Grafton, Donald Gene Ford II and fiance’, Kelsie West of Morgantown, Ryan Poling of Clarksburg, Angela T. Poling of Morgantown, and Donald Joseph “D.J.” Poling also of Clarksburg; seven great-grandchildren, Taylor Alexandria Marsh, Dylan Jeremy Ice, Olivia Ryan Poling, Joshua Aaron Ford, Trey and Hayden Ford, Paul Russel Pyles IV, Dominic Gene Ford, and Ava West; one sister, Norma Jean Hendrick of LaVale, MD; two nephews, Billy Hendrick and Scott Hendrick; and one niece, Della Jean Judy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Della Agnes (Simons) Poling who passed away September 17, 2004; one sister, Zelda Henderson; and two nephews, Mike Henderson and James Henderson.

Don served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII from December 5, 1944-October 17, 1946 receiving the American Theater Service Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and World War II Victory Medal.
He retired from the B&O Railroad as an engineer.
He was a member of the VFW Memorial City Post 3081, the Grafton Lodge #15 AF&AM, Scottish Rite of Free Masons, Taylor County Shrine Club, and a member of the N.R.A.
Don attended the Church of the Brethren in Grafton.

He was a very loving and devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother to his family. He loved his model train sets, enjoyed walking, watching CNN, and his cat, Gabriel.

The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 from 11:00 until the funeral hour at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Joe West officiating.
Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery in Pruntytown.
Military graveside services will be conducted by the Taylor County Honor Guard and the WV Army National Guard of Kingwood.
