Obituary for David Monroe Maier

David M. Maier, age 64 of Rock Union Road, Fairmont, WV passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at the Mon General Hospital in Morgantown.
He was born July 3, 1951 in Morgantown a son of the late Monroe and Dorlinda M. (Myers) Maier.

He is survived by his wife, Marsha E. (O’Dea) Maier; three children, Eric Maier and wife Karey of Grafton, Shannon Mayle and husband Tim of Grafton, and Amanda Larew and husband Jeremy of Morgantown; seven grandchildren, McKenzie Mayle, Ryan Maier, Jacob Maier, Ally Mayle, Austin Mayle, Chase Maier, and Jenna Maier; one sister, Deborah Plum and husband Randy of Kingwood; one brother, Jim Maier and Shelley Garbert also of Kingwood; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

David graduated from Tunnelton High School with the Class of 1969 and then served in the US Army from 1970-1973. He retired from the Harrison Power Station as a Work Management Superintendent after 37 years. He was a member of the Aurora Masonic Lodge #43 of Newburg and was Methodist by faith.
He enjoyed his family, hunting, traveling with his wife, Marsha, and especially watching his children and grandchildren play sports.

The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Saturday, November 7th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and on Sunday, from 2:00-8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, November 9, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Bruce Hoffman officiating.
Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery in Pruntytown.
Military graveside services will be conducted by the Taylor County Honor Guard and the Army National Guard of Kingwood.
