Wilda L.  Nestor (McCartney)

Wilda L. (McCartney) Nestor, 84, of Thornton, WV passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at the Grafton City Hospital.
She was born December 27, 1930, in Grafton, WV a daughter of the late John and Enid (DeMoss) McCartney.

She is survived by two sons, Michael L. Nestor and wife, Doris, and Wayne N. Nestor, all of Thornton; four grandchildren, Beverly White and husband, Jerry of Grafton, Matthew Nestor of Thornton, Angel Nestor of Grafton, and Breanna Nestor of Thornton; six great-grandchildren, Brandon, Shelbie, Tavia, and Brookelynn White, of Grafton, Donivon Duley of Flemington, and Zylas Neubauer of Grafton; several cousins, one brother-in-law, six sisters in-law, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Lloyd B. Nestor; a sister and brother who died at birth, and a special cousin, Lorraine McCartney and wife, Clara.

Wilda graduated from Grafton High School with the Class of 1948. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church for over 50 years and held several offices. She enjoyed singing in the choir and serving as treasurer for 24 years. She formerly belonged to the Mt. Pleasant Methodist Women and the Glade Run Homemakers Club.
She was a homemaker, mother and enjoyed spending time with her family.

The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home on Sunday, March 29th from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. and from 11:30 until the funeral hour on Monday.
Funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. with Rev. Daniel Lowther officiating.
Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery in Pruntytown.
