Obituary for Robert G. "Bob" Thorn

Robert G. "Bob"  Thorn
Robert G. Thorn, age 91, of Stone Road, Grafton, WV passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the Rosewood Health Care Center in Grafton.
He was born September 9, 1923 in Grafton, a son of the late William D. and Ruby F. (Gull) Thorn.

He is survived by one daughter, Carolyn A. Pauletta and husband Bob of Grafton; two step grandchildren, Robert “Bobby” Pauletta of PA and Jeffrey T. Pauletta of FL; also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 50 years, Ann E. (Schmuck) Thorn; three brothers, Joseph B. “Joe” Thorn, William W. “Bill” Thorn, Edgarl L. “Ed” Thorn; and one step-grandson, Mike Pauletta.

Bob was a graduate of Grafton High School and then served in the US Army as a transport truck driver.
He was a substation attendant for Consul Mine #93 Jordan for 35 years. He enjoyed bowling, lawn care, was an avid gardener, loved watching and feeding the humming birds, and his beloved cat “Toby”.
He was a member of the Beulah Baptist Church of Grafton.

The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on
Tuesday, March 3rd from 2:00-7:00 p.m.
Funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Jonathan Menear officiating.
Interment will be on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Morgantown.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made in Bob’s name to the Taylor County Humane Society P.O. Box 4045 Grafton, WV 26354.
