Nancy Carol  Skaggs (Devers)
Nancy Carol (Devers) Skaggs, age 77, of Sunrise Acres, Grafton, WV passed away Friday,
January 16, 2015 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport.
She was born August 26, 1937 in Grafton, WV a daughter of the late William Devers and Emzie Ellen (Sinsel) Devers.

She is survived by three children, Michael Skaggs and wife, Blanca of Grafton, Bill Skaggs of Grafton, and Elizabeth “Beth” Emery of Fair Lawn, NJ; six grandchildren, Brian Emery and Fiance’, Kaitlin Mahoney of Hawthorne, NJ, Kelly Jones and husband, Douglas of Charleston, WV, Drew Emery of Groton, CT, Alex Emery of Midland Park, NJ, Kennedy Jane Skaggs and Keith Skaggs both of Grafton; one great-grandson, Eamon Andrew Emery; one sister, Shirley Orr and husband, John of Clarksburg; one brother-in-law, Jim McBee of Morgantown; two sisters-in-law, Betty L. Shaffer and husband, Al of Spring Grove, PA, and Loretta Carol Withers of
Grafton, WV; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Edwin Skaggs, who passed away June 15, 2014; four sisters, Rosemary Petrovich, Betty Lee Powell, Ruth Royce, Barbara McBee; and one brother, William Devers.

Nancy was a Teacher’s Aide for Special Education for the Taylor County School System and retired in 2000 with 29 years of service. She was a member of the Retired Teacher’s Association and was a member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed crocheting blankets for her family and also enjoyed reading.

The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Tuesday, January 20th from 3:00-8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Wednesday.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bert Coffman officiating.
Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery in Pruntytown.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations to be made to the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church at: 3025 Lucas Dairy Road, Grafton, WV 26354.
