Obituary for Letha Pearl Cox (Norris)

Letha Pearl (Norris) Cox, age 95 of West Main Street, Grafton, WV passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at her residence.
She was born December 7, 1918 in Grafton, WV a daughter of the late Hayward and Maude Mae (Phillips) Norris.

She is survived by five children, Lewana Jane McDaniels and husband, Roland, Garrett Lee Cox and wife, Jean, Judith Ann Spencer and husband Charles, Darleta Sue Chambers and husband Kenneth, all of Grafton, and Sarah Kathryn Poling and husband, Thomas of Myrtle Beach, SC; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Sarah Kathryn “Katie” Lambert of Charleston, WV; two sisters-in-law, Adrienne Norris of West Union and Edna Norris of Meadowdale; and also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilford Lee Cox; one great-grandson, Trevor Correia; four sisters, Clara Layman, Mabel Poling, Eileen Mooney, and Helen Hussion; and three brothers, Richard F. Norris, Robert Norris, and Ralph Norris.

Letha enjoyed her family, babysitting her grandchildren, traveling and was a member of the Blueville United Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Friday, October 3, 2014 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Saturday.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Sue Lowther officiating.
Interment will follow at the Harmony Grove Cemetery.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice Corporation and Shawna Gray for their heartfelt care.
