Obituary for Charline Virginia Spencer (Propps)

Charline Virginia Spencer, 86, of Grafton, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 13, 2014 in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was born in Cunard, West Virginia to Charles and Pearl Sheppard on September 6, 1927.

Charline will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, board games, shopping, listening to gospel music, travelling and most of all spending time with her family.

Charline’s memory will be cherished by her six children: daughters Trenia (Shahbaz) Amidi of Greensboro, NC, Barbara (Harold) Hays of Ravenna, OH, Shelia Spencer of Cape Coral, FL; sons Roger (Cathy) Spencer of Charlotte, NC, Mike (Brenda) Dunbar of Beckley, and Paul (Tina) Spencer of Cortland, OH; daughter-in-law Debbie Spencer of Clarksburg; four sisters, Camilla Richmond of Newark, OH, May (Paul) Stipe of Flemington, Rita (Pete) Boblett of Beckley, and Wanda Lantz of Grafton. Also by lifetime family friend, Chuck Yates; 17 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents Charline was preceded in death by her husband George Alvin Spencer; sons Kermit Randy Spencer and Charles Alvin Spencer; sister Kathleen Stipe and brother Basile Sheppard.
Friends may call at the Donald Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Monday, May 19th from 4-8 PM and on Tuesday, May 20th from 10-11 AM at the Message of Freedom Church where the Funeral Service will be officiated by Pastor Michael Stottlemyer at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at The West Virginia National Cemetery in Pruntytown.
