Obituary for Andrew Curtis "Bud" Moore

Andrew Curtis “Bud” Moore, age 83 of Wilson Ridge Community, Grafton, WV, passed away Monday, January 20, 2014, at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg, WV.
He was born October 12, 1930 in Moatsville, WV. He is the son of the late Andrew Kay Moore and Eulah Blanch (Sinsel).

He is survived by one brother, Robert M. Moore and wife Carol of Carrollton, VA; one sister- in -law, Delores Moore of Leesburg, VA; one brother- in-law, George Hamric of Columbus, OH; and many nieces and nephews.

Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters; Ernestine June Hamric, Wilma Jean Marsh, and Mary Jane Glass; and one brother, Jefferson Ray Moore.

Andrew graduated from Kasson High School, Barbour County, WV in 1950. After graduation he was drafted into the armed services. He served in the Air Force for four years. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force he returned to Grafton, WV where he spent the remainder of his life. Due to his health problems he was unable to work away from home, leaving him to spend most of his time on the farm.

He was a Christian by faith and was never in doubt of his heavenly home.

The last sixteen years of his life Andrew lived in a home for adults that were established by Mrs. Artie Martin and her family. In this home he enjoyed the fun and friendship of his fellow residents. His family wants to thank Regina and Tom for the care they gave Andrew “Uncle Bud”.

The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Sunday, January 26, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Monday.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 27, 2014 with Rev. Bert Coffman officiating. Interment will follow at the Woodsdale Memorial Park Cemetery in Grafton, WV. Military graveside services will be accorded by the Taylor County Honor Guard and the Wright-Patterson AFB Honor Guard.
