Obituary for Willard Mitchell

Willard Mitchell, age 71 of Howard Street, Clarksburg, WV (formerly of Pleasant Creek Community) passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. He was born May 31, 1941 a son of the late William Elwood “Wood” Mitchell and Nela Pearl (Hathaway) Mitchell.

He is survived by three children, Jacqueline “Jackie” Elaine Closson, Tammy Lou Lowe and husband Edmund, and Willard “Dale” Mitchell, all of Clarksburg; seven grandchildren, Rosemary Ann Policano, Zachary Taylor Thomas Closson, Jesse Dale Lowe and wife, Dora, Rachel Dawn Lowe, James Edmund Lowe, Luke Dale Mitchell and Lance Morgan Mitchell; one great-grandchild, Gavin Charles Cole; two sisters, Lucille Adams and husband Ray of St. George, WV and Louise Howdyshell and husband Robert of Grafton; and also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Elwood Junior “Jack” Mitchell.

Willard was a machinist and a former owner and of Mitchell and McDaniel Machine Shop in Stonewood, WV. He was an avid fisherman and hunter traveling to Alaska and Canada on several fishing trips and to Colorado and Idaho on hunting trips. He enjoyed his family cook-outs and fish fry’s. He was a graduate of Grafton High School and a member of the Pleasant Creek United Methodist Church. He will be deeply missed by all.
