Obituary

Waltraud “Kitty” DeBarr, 89, of Morgantown, passed away Friday, March 6, 2020 at home in Morgantown surrounded by loving family. She was born June 19, 1930 in Troppau, Czechoslovakia, a daughter of the late Franz and Anna Kirchmann. She was raised in Augsburg, Germany and emigrated to the US in 1955. Waltraud was lovingly nicknamed ‘Kitty’ by her friends and family.
Waltraud was preceded in death by her husband, Basil Leroy DeBarr.
Waltraud worked for 40 years at Mylan Labs in the label control department. She loved both the work and her co-workers, enabling her to work until retirement at age 79. After retirement, she cared for her loving husband until his passing at home.
She is survived by three children: Gregory Lee DeBarr of Southgate, Michigan; Susan Linda Calvert (husband Brad Calvert) of Spraggs, PA; and James Christopher DeBarr (Chris), of Morgantown.
She is survived by three grandchildren: Clinton Cramer of Clarksburg, WV; Brittany Schaum (husband Chris Schaum), of Spraggs, PA; and Tonya Martin (husband James Martin) of Morgantown.
She is survived by five great grandchildren: Cameron and Carson Cramer, Kylee and Wyatt Schaum, and Aubree Martin.
She is also survived by two sisters and one brother – all living in the Augsburg, Germany area: Linde, Hanne-Lori, and Peter.
The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 9th and from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Tuesday.
