Obituary for Thomas "Tom" B. Kinnell
Thomas B. “Tom” Kinnell, 88, of Fairmont, WV, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2022 at home. He was born in Binghamton, NY on July 25, 1934, the only son of Thomas and Madeline (Bruce) Kinnell.
Thomas was the last surviving member of his immediate family, having also been preceded in death by his sister Janice.
Tom is survived by his wife of 40 years, Elda E. “Lea” Kinnell; three daughters: Connie McKinney (David) of Springfield, Missouri, Valerie Stauber (Wolfgang) of Holyoke, Massachusetts, and Holly Kinnell Rust (Christopher) of Woodstock, Connecticut; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
After graduation Tom began his career with Agway Inc., an agriculture business, working in their petroleum division, where he retired as a sales manager with 40 years of service. He and his wife Lea were members of Fairmont Baptist Temple and enjoyed their church family. Tom never met a stranger, he would go along with Lea shopping and end up setting out front talking to others as they came and went. He also had a great sense of humor and enjoyed telling jokes to make others laugh and smile. Tom was an animal lover and had several over the years including two cats now, “Jessie” and “Princess.”
Family and friends will be received at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home 950 George Washington Hwy Grafton, WV, on Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 10am until the funeral hour at 11am.
