Obituary for Sharon "Kay" McKinney (Collins)
Sharon “Kay” McKinney, age 72 of George Washington Highway, Grafton, WV passed away Friday, December 18, 2020 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV with her husband and four children by her side.
She was born January 12, 1948 in Flemington, WV a daughter of the late Pinkney A. Collins and Dorothy E. (McCauley) Bolyard Collins
She was survived by her husband of 55 years, Paul Gary McKinney, Sr.; one daughter, Kimberly Ann Knotts and husband Kevin; three sons, Paul Gary McKinney, Jr. and wife Lorie; Brian Carroll McKinney and wife Janine; and Michael Todd McKinney, all of Grafton; eight grandchildren, Britney Gregory and husband Mitchel, Rachel McKinney, Haleigh Coon and husband Dalton, Seth McKinney, Ryan McKinney and wife Courtney, Josh Trickett, Kameron and Kacey Knotts; five great-grandchildren, Hadlee and Lailah Gregory, Lane Coon, Mykenna McKinney, Kohen McKinney; two sisters, Sandy Fleming and husband Sonny of Bridgeport, Sherry Fleming and husband Roger of Mt. Clare, WV; one brother, Carl Bolyard and wife Sandy of Grafton; also survived many loved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Penny Sue Bolyard; one brother, Carroll McCauley; her daughter-in-law, Kelly McKinney, and one granddaughter, Kendra Knotts.
Kay graduated from Flemington High School with the Class of 1966 and was a member of the Long Run Freewill Baptist Church.
She enjoyed her family, cooking for her children and especially playing with her grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Tuesday, December 22nd from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Wednesday.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Orville Wright officiating.
Interment will follow at the Woodsdale Memorial Park Cemetery in Grafton.
