Obituary for Robert Lawrence "Bob" Phillips

Robert L. “Bob” Phillips, age 77 of Victory Avenue, Grafton, WV passed away Friday, March 27, 2020 at his residence with his beloved family by his side.
He was born August 18, 1942 in Grafton, WV a son of the late Odrey L. and Ester R. (Hall) Phillips.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Ruth Ellen (Mitchell) Phillips; four children, Robert “Kevin” Phillips and fiance’ Sherrie Stohler of Grafton, Bryan E. Phillips and fiance’ Jodie Blackstock, of Newburg, Timothy L. Phillips and wife Wilma, of Grafton, and Crystal D. Johnson and husband Joe, also of Grafton; five grandchildren, Kendelyn Eddy and husband Tyler, of Morgantown, Bryson Phillips of Grafton, Tyler Poston, Logan Phillips, and Kole Phillips, all of Grafton; two great-grandchildren, Karmendi and Emilia; two brothers, Charles Phillips and wife Sara, of Hundred, Donnie Phillips of Grafton, and one sister, Velda Phillips of Fairmont; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Audry Louise Pheasant.

Bob graduated from Grafton High School with the Class of 1960. He then served in the US Air Force from 1961-1965.
He worked as an engineer for the CSX Railroad for 40 years. He was a member of the Grafton Lodge #15 AF&AM, Osiris Temple of Wheeling, and the Taylor County Shrine Club.
He enjoyed his family, farming, hunting, his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and traveling with his wife, Ruth.

There will be a private viewing and funeral at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton due to the Covid-19 Virus.
Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery in Pruntytown.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
