Obituary for Robert John Sandor
Robert John “Bob” Sandor, age 77 of West Wilford Street, Grafton, WV passed away Friday, July 10, 2020 at the J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
He was born January 20, 1943 in Grafton, a son of the late Frank Anthony Sandor, Sr. and Elizabeth Ann (Lucas) Sandor.
He is survived by one sister, Mary E. Canning and husband Thomas J. Canning, Jr. of Laurel, MD; one nephew, Francis A. Sandor, III of Grafton, WV; two nieces, Kristina M. Grimes of Woodbridge, VA and Della N. Sandor also of Woodbridge; also survived by several great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Frank A. Sandor, Jr. (formerly of Englewood, FL), and one niece, Kimberly E. Wesson also of Englewood, FL.
Bob graduated from the St. Augustine Catholic School with the Class of 1960. He then worked as an advertising and copy manager for the Broadcasting and Telecasting Magazine in Washington, DC. He later worked for the Mountain Statesman Newspaper in the Ad Layout Department and at Builders Service and Supply as the salesman and buyer for the Electrical Department. He was licensed to work on electrical and mechanical equipment.
Bob enjoyed his family, hunting, bowling, darts, target practicing, photography, and music.
The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Sunday, July 19th from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
A funeral mass will be conducted, Monday, July 20, 2020 at 10:00 a.m at the St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Binu Sebastian as Celebrant.
Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Grafton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s name to the Taylor County Senior Center at 52 Trap Springs Road, Grafton, WV 26354
