Obituary for Robert Edward Bartlett

Robert Edward Bartlett, age 89 of Maplewood Drive, Bridgeport, WV passed away Thursday, February 13, 2020 at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg.
He was born June 8, 1930 in Grafton, WV a son of the late Cooper R. and Eulah Janette (Newlon) Bartlett.

He is survived by two sons, Marvin P. Bartlett and wife Elizabeth of Nicholasville, KY and Kevin E. Bartlett of Williamsburg, VA; two grandchildren, Cooper and Eliza Bartlett at home; one brother, Charles Bartlett of Grafton; and also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine T. (Sypolt) Bartlett; three brothers, Richard, Frank, and Neal Bartlett; and one sister, Ella Louise Rowe.

Bob graduated from Grafton High School with the Class of 1948 then served in the US Marines during the Korean War.
He was employed by the Taylor County School System as a bus driver for 29 years and was then employed by Builder’s Service and Supply in Grafton.

He was a member of the Blueville United Methodist Church for over 40 years.
He enjoyed his family, gardening, farming, attending his church and visiting neighbors.

The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Sunday, February 16th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Monday.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, February 17, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.
Interment will follow at the Woodsdale Memorial Park Cemetery
