Obituary for Paul A. "Butch" Richards
Paul A. (Butch) Richards age 74 of Ruth Street passed away April 17, 2020 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. Paul was born August 31, 1945 In Grafton, the son of Mauldin M. Richards and Mary Margaret (Vandergrift) Richards.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years Joyce A. (Markley) Richards: three children Vanessa Lea Lockhart and husband Wesley of Grafton, Tina Marie Hull and husband Robert of Davis, WV, Jacob Anthony Richards of Grafton, WV: Seven grandchildren Cassandra and Fiance’ Gervis of Grafton, Hannah and Mark of Simpson, WV, John Wesley of Romney, WV, Katherine and Justin of Grafton, Lindsey Hull of Davis, WV, and Jason and Mya of Grafton, WV, two great grandchildren: Heath Knotts and Walyn Knotts; several nieces and nephews Tamala, Danny and Edward; also his foster daughter: Debbie. Butch was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: one sister: Vonda Sue Workman, Melvin Richards and Hugh Richards.
He attended Grafton High School and entered in the US. Army in November of 1965 till November of 1967. He attended First Grace brethren Church.
Butch was a bus driver, Janitor for Taylor County Board of Education. Butch enjoyed his family, fishing, hunting, working at his workshop and “YES DEAR”.
BECAUSE OF THE Covid 19 virus there will be no public visitation and a private interment will be conducted at the WV National cemetery at Pruntytown. A memorial service will be at a later date.
