Milford “Eddy” Wiseman, age 81 of Fairmont, WV (formerly of Paridise Cove, Knottsville) passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at the Tygart Center in Fairmont.
He was born May 25, 1938 in Simpson, WV a son of the late Juel Jefferson and Georgia Ocean (McDaniel) Wiseman.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Brown) Wiseman; one son, Gregory L. Brown and wife Beverly, of Spotsylvania, PA; one daughter, Lisa A. Perdue and husband Mark , of Fredericksburg, VA; two grandchildren, Jason G. Brown and wife Jeanne, of Lorton, VA and Michele R. Tripp and husband Matthew, of Fredericksburg, VA; two great-grandchildren, Garrett and Vivian Tripp; three brothers, Donald Lee Wiseman of Rosemont, Melvin G. Wiseman and wife LaDonna of Simpson, Karl L. Wiseman of Stubenville, OH; five sisters Dorthea J. Vincent of Stubenville, OH, Betty L. Felton and husband Marvin, of Simpson, Wanita G. Kittle and husband Don, of Simpson, Rita K. Gray and husband Randy, of Rosemont, Shirley A. Marks of Grafton; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Beverly Jo Wiseman.
Eddy graduated from Flemington High School with the Class of 1957 then served in the US Army from 1958-1964. He retired from North America Coal Company as a belt coordinator, was a truck driver for Sentinal Transportation Company of Old Hickory, TN, and worked many years as a door greeter for Sam’s Club in Clarksburg.
He was a member of the Taylor County Post #12 American Legion and past Commander of American Legion Post #870 of Hannibal, OH.
He was Methodist by faith.
The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton, WV on Tuesday, March 17th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Wednesday.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Lois R. Sandy and Pastor Rick McCauley officiating.
Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery in Grafton.
Military Graveside services will be conducted by the Taylor County Honor Guard and the Army National Guard from Camp Dawson.
