Obituary for Jo Hill Harman (Jenkins)

Jo (Jenkins) Hill Harman was born on July 1st, 1928 in Charleston, WV and moved to Grafton in 1960.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Katherine Jenkins, father, Arnold Jenkins, and brother, Robert Jenkins, all of Charleston, WV.
She is survived by her husband, Don Harman, her daughters Terry Hill Cunningham and Holly Hill, her grandson, Dave Cunningham, stepdaughter, Beth Batson, and stepdaughters Donna Harman Garrett and Debbie Harman Grinnan.
She was a member of The Church of the Covenant and attended The Church of the Good Shepherd regularly. Her faith was a very big part of her life. Her generosity was well known, and she donated to many local and national charities and helped many individuals. So, in lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted by the Taylor County Community Foundation, PO Box 409, Morgantown, WV 26507.
Jo graduated from Southern Seminary College and worked a few jobs before working as a stay at home mom. Later she became a self-taught Behavioral Vision Therapist. She loved helping children who needed this therapy and was rewarded by seeing the drastic positive changes in their lives.
She loved both poetry and art and was asked to paint the portrait of Anna Jarvis when the school was built. Jo played an active role volunteering for the Taylor County Arts Council, The Auxiliary of Grafton City Hospital, and the Gideons. She was a life-long Bridge player (77 years), played in 3 Bridge Clubs and enjoyed many other card playing times with other friends. She loved to read and always had a book handy.
Jo was loved by many for her kind nature and her sense of humor.
There will be no funeral home visitation, but there will be a memorial service sometime in January.
