Obituary for Frederick Herbert McDonald
Frederick Herbert McDonald, Sr., age 73 of Glady Creek Drive, Fairmont, WV passed away Friday , January 18, 2019 at his residence with his family by his side.
He was born September 26, 1945 in Chapmanville, WV a son of the late Joseph Henry and Braskie (Hensley) McDonald.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 11 years, Beverly Ann (Lockhart) McDonald; five children, Frederick H. McDonald, Jr. (Tina) of Fairmont, Steven R. McDonald (Venus) of Church Hill, MD, Kenny R. McDonald (Michelle) of Fairmont; Cari J. Moats (Mark) and Michael L. McDonald all of Grafton; fourteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Joseph McDonald (Joan) of Norfolk, VA, James McDonald of Elyria, OH, and John McDonald (Barbara) also of Elyria; two sisters, Vickie Freshwater (Rick) of Avon Lake, OH and Sharon McDonald of Elyria; and also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Fred graduated from Chapmanville High School with the Class of 1963. He was the owner of McDonald Construction Company, Inc. of Bridgeport for over 25 years.
He was a member of the National Home Builders Assoc., WV Home Builders Assoc., and the North Central Home Builders Assoc.
He was a member of the Harmony Grove Baptist Church, serving as a deacon and trustee.
The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Monday, January 21st from 2:00-8:00p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Tuesday.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jimmy Baker officiating.
Interment will follow at the Harmony Grove Cemetery in Grafton.
