Freda E. (Mason) Gillespie, age 88 of West Hill Road (formerly of W. Wilford Street) Grafton, WV passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2020 at the home of Lonnie and Donna Mayle.
She was born March 8, 1931 in Taylor County, WV a daughter of the late Thomas Roy Mason and Rosamond Ferne (Frederick) Mason.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas R. Gillespie and wife Judy of Grafton and Terry W. Gillespie and wife Cindy of Chester, VA; four grandchildren, Christa Kinsey and husband Ben and Bryan Gillespie and wife Kym all of Grafton, Marcus Gillespie of Herndon, VA and Jacqueline Gillespie of Chester, VA; five grandchildren, Mason and Chase Kinsey and Colton, Carter, and Cayden Gillespie, all of Grafton; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold R. Gillespie who passed away in 1977 and her sister, Kathryn “Kitty” Taylor.

Freda worked at the Grafton City Hospital in the business office for 30 years.
She was a member of the Church Circle 4, Woodmen of the World Sorority, Eastern Star-Naomi Chapter 12, the Hospital Auxilary, and the Democratic Executive Committee.
She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Grafton.

The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Saturday, February 29th from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Matthew Dotson officiating.
Interment at the Woodsdale Memorial Park Cemetery in Grafton.

Sending my sincere condolences for the loss of your mom. She had such a vibrant loving personality. It was always so nice seeing Freda, she had way of making people feel special. She will be missed.
