Obituary for Dorothy Jane Hockenberry (Durst)
Dorothy Jane (Durst) Hockenberry, age 83 of Gladesville Road, Independence, WV passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022 at the Taylor Health Care Center in Grafton.
She was born September 8, 1938 a daughter of the late Lawrence and Emma Durst.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin Lyle Hockenberry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Hockenberry who passed away March 27, 2020.
After high school graduation, Dorothy attended business college and there she met the love of her life, Lyle. She spent her life as a homemaker and caregiver to their son, Christopher.
She was a member of the Gladesville Homemaker Club.
At Dorothy’s request, she will be cremated. There will be no service or viewing at the funeral home. She will be inurned at the WV National Cemetery at a later date.
