Obituary for Cindy S. Goots
Cindy Sue Goots, 71, of Flemington, WV, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2022 peacefully surrounded by her family. She was born in Flemington on November 16, 1950, a daughter of the late Walter G. and Della (Jones) Lawson.
In addition to her parents Cindy was preceded in death by one sister Jean Rita Gaines.
Cindy is survived by her partner of 35 years Richard D. “Rick” Dayton II of Flemington; three children: Andrea Goots of Clarksburg, John Goots (Courtney) of Clarksburg, and Maria Goots of Flemington; four grandchildren: Taylor Goots, Nicholas Goots, Johnna Goots, and Jenna Goots; two great-grandchildren: Ryland and Mayloni; two half-brothers: Stephen Lawson and Jack Lawson; and a special niece who helped care for her Tasha Vanscoy of Flemington.
Cindy was a graduate of Flemington High School and in her younger years worked as a beautician before going into the retail business for 20 years. After retiring she went on to work as activities director for Mansfield Place in Philippi and Meadowview Manor in Bridgeport, which was something she greatly enjoyed. She enjoyed taking trips with friends especially going shopping, going to the beach, and playing on Facebook where she liked to collect recipes. Cindy was also an avid pioneer woman collector. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and greatly loved her grandchildren.
