Obituary for Carole Landis Stewart
Carole Landis Stewart, 79, of Grafton, WV, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at the Taylor Health Care Center in Grafton, WV. She was born in Grafton on January 22, 1943, a daughter of the late George William and Hazel Belle (Kerns) Martin.
Carole loved being a mother and grandmother. She loved to take care of others and spent time caring for her family and friends. Carole was a long-time member of the Grafton Salvation Army as well as the Home League Ministry. She enjoyed listening to music, especially Elvis.
In addition to her parents, Carole was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Dale Warren Stewart, a sister, Bertha Elizabeth Shaffer, two brothers: William E. Martin and Gail Martin, three grandchildren: Edwina Springs, Wayne Springs, and Cody Stewart, and one great-grandson, Daniel Godwin.
Carole is survived by her seven children: Lisa Stewart of Concord, NC, Randall Stewart of Grafton, Gary (Denise) Stewart of Martinsville, VA, Carla (Tony) Jacobs of Grafton, Carol Ann (JR) Foster of Philippi, Marriah Godwin of Grafton, and Greg (Olivia) Godwin of Cleveland, OH. 20 grandchildren: James Martin, Diana Martin, Jason Martin, Philip Springs, Rachel Whitman, Melissa Stewart, Randy Stewart, Dusta McQuinn, Charles Boliner, Jessie Boliner, Angel Weaver, Jeffrey Weaver, Britney Weaver, Belinda Weaver, Blake Weaver, William Foster, Andrew Foster, Hannah Worden, Justin Gibson, and Jacob Gibson, and several great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home 950 George Washington Hwy Grafton, WV, on Monday, October 3, 2022 from 11 am until the funeral hour at 1 pm.
