Obituary for Carol Winifred Gallaher (Rogers)

Carol Winifred (Rogers) Gallaher, age 92 of Victory Avenue, Grafton, WV passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at the Grafton City Hospital.
She was born October 2, 1927 in Grafton, WV a daughter of the late Charles Frederick and Dulcie Bee (Hayes) Rogers.
She is survived by two children, James R. Gallaher and wife Pam and Janet L. Campbell and husband John all of Grafton; six grandchildren, Jason Gallaher (Sarah) of Kingwood, WV, Jennifer McCarthy (Bryant) of Grafton, Erinn Gallaher of Clarksburg, Cameron Gallaher of Port Orange, FL, Zackary McCourt of Morgantown, and Ashley Oldaker (Jamie) of Ft. Benning, GA; fourteen great-grandchildren, Colby Gallaher, Emma Gallaher, Baylee Gallaher, Madison Nine, Claire McCarthy, Colin McCarthy, Venessa Kidd, Konner McCourt, McKenzie McCourt, Olexa Poling, Olivia Robinson, Logan Oldaker, and twins, Ashlynn and Rian Oldaker; one great-great grandson, Ayden Poling; one brother, Virgil Rogers and wife Marian of Grafton; one brother-in-law George D. Gallaher of Grafton; and also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband, James William Gallaher who passed away November 3, 2005; three brothers, Robert “Bob” Rogers, Charles “Ray” Rogers, and Donald Rogers; and one sister, Eleanor Rogers.

Carol graduated from Grafton High School with the Class of 1946. She then worked at the Hazel Atlas Glass Company in Grafton and the WV Plastics Company as a machine operator for over 30 years.
She was a member of the Haymond United Methodist Church and the Oak Grove CEO’s.
She enjoyed her family, camping, playing bingo, and socializing at the Taylor County Senior Center.
At her request, she will be cremated and there will be no funeral home viewing or funeral.
Carol will be inurned beside her husband, James W. Gallaher at the WV National Cemetery at a later date.
