Obituary for Betty Annalee Huffman (Kines)

Betty Annalee Huffman (Kines)passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on June 13, 2020. She was born July 18, 1926 in Grafton W.Va. to the late Jacob Howard and Josie Maranda(Cox) Kines. Preceded in death by her husband Eugene A. Huffman; one grandson, Carl Huffman; and siblings, Dakota, Emmett, Claudis (Betty), Pete (Kate) and Tunney (Prema) Kines, Mary (Ray) Preston and Hazel (Harold) Bennett.
She is survived by her sons Emmett (Jan), Steve (Terry), and Roy (Cindy) Huffman; six grandchildren,
Shane, Josie, Sophia, Velvie, Cheyenne, and Derek; and 12 great-grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews.

Betty has always been an avid gardener and loved to plant her flowers and vegetables every year. She had a way with all animals and throughout her life she had cats and dogs as well as a pet rabbit, groundhog, peacock and fawn. She enjoyed genealogy, antiquing and exploring and would try just about anything at least once.
Betty was a hard worker and very civic minded and in 1945 spent the summer in the Woman’s Land Army in Fremont, Ohio. She worked at the Hazel Atlas Glass Factory for many years as well as Hecks. She loved taking care of people and was a caregiver for the elderly and then worked as a Grandmother at Anna Jarvis Elementary School for 16 years. She retired at the age of 89 to the dismay of the many children and teachers she worked with. Betty was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Aux. Post 3081 and a member of the Grafton Main Street Committee for many years.
Throughout her life, Betty has always surrounded herself with family; and from generation to generation she taught us and our children so much; we have so many wonderful memories of our adventures with her. She has touched the hearts of so many and will be remembered and missed by all.
At Betty’s request she will be cremated. There will be no funeral home visitation or funeral.
