Condolence: Having only recently learned of my relationship to Mr. Mathews, and after reading the obituary herein, it is with the utmost sincerity I am forwarding my condolences to the family and friends. I cannot help but dearly wish I had been blessed with the opportunity to have talked with him, learned of his life's experiences and blessings, first-hand. Although I have resided in the western United States since birth, I will forever feel a connection to lives I have never known. I have an amazing father-in-law, who is also a WWII veteran, stationed in the Pacific during the war. His persona and the sharing of events, I am certain would have been similar to those of Mr. Mathews. Again, please accept our sincere condolences for your loss.
