Obituary for Elsie May Severe (Feathers)

Elsie May (Feathers) Severe, age 92 of Monroe Street, Grafton, WV passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Grafton City Hospital.

She was born August 13, 1923 in Independence, WV a daughter of the late Rolice Forest Feathers and Ethel May (Isner) Feathers.

She is survived by six children, William J. Severe and wife Mary Ellen, of Grafton, Luella Williams and husband Virgil, of Oklahoma, Betty Taylor and husband Larry, of Kings Mountain, NC, Audra Williams of Grafton, Clarence Severe of Morgantown, and Sharon Watkins and husband John, of Bruceton Mills, WV; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Clarence E. “Bill” Feathers and wife Glenna, of Newburg, WV; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Junior Severe; one sister, Beulah Feathers; two brothers, Everett R. Feathers and James L. Feathers; and one son-in-law, Virgil Williams.

Elsie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister to her family.
She enjoyed her family, quilting, and gardening.

The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Tuesday, March 1st from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Wednesday.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Gary Whitescarver officiating.
Interment will follow at the Gladesville Cemetery in Preston County.
