Obituary for Thomas Carvel McWilliams

Thomas Carvel McWilliams, age 91, of Cherry Street, Grafton, WV passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the Grafton City Hospital .
He was born December 15, 1925 in Grafton, WV, a son of the late Floyd John and Velva Gay (Losh) McWilliams.

He survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Dorothy “Dot” Ellen Rutherford; three children, Kathy Magdelene Westfall, Tommy Lee McWilliams, Cindy Beth McWilliams and Fiance’ Bill Jackson, all of Grafton; four grandchildren, Katie Morgan of Edinburgh, Scottland, Amy Williams and husband, John Williams, of Morgantown, WV, Brian Bolyard of Newport News, VA, and Kimberly Murray of Grafton; six great-grandchildren, William Smallwood, Nicholas Workman, Jackson and Allison Williams, and Emily and Patrick Murray; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, David Morgan; one brother, Junior “Si” McWilliams; and one daughter-in-law, Mendy McWilliams.

Tom was a veteran of the US Army during the WWII era and was a truck driver and maintenance worker for the Taylor County Board of Education for over 30 years. He attended the First Grace Brethren Church of Grafton. He enjoyed WVU football games and camping.

At Tom’s request, he will be cremated and there will be no funeral home visitation or services.
