Obituary for Richard L. Nine

Richard L. ”Turtle” Nine, age 75 of Sinclair Road, (Fellowsville Community) Moatsville, WV passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at the Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood.
He was born February 27, 1940 in St. George, WV a son of the late Jacob Richard and Virginia Elizabeth (Wotring) Nine.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Kay (Husk Haddix) Nine; one daughter, Lisa K. Nine and Brad Adams of Fellowsville; three sons, Anthony Nine and Wendy of Baltimore, MD, Troy Nine and wife Sherry, of Madeyville, IN; and James “Jay” Nine and wife Marla, of IN; six grandchildren, Cordelia, Kourtney, Mercedes, Randi, Kendall, and Roxanne; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ruby Hershman and husband Herbert, of Moatsville, Sue Hershman and husband George, also of Moatsville, Frances “Fred” Nine of Franklin, WV; four brothers, John Nine and wife Sharon, of Reedsville, Jerry Nine and wife Sue, of Elkins, Charles Nine and wife Joyce, of Moatsville, and Carl Nine of Montrose; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Caroll R. (Cline) Nine; three sisters, Grace Propst, Virginia Channels, and Sharlet George.

“Turtle” was a truck driver for Weaver Brothers Trucking of Gladesville. He loved his family, grandchildren, fishing, woodworking, gardening and the outdoors.

The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Friday, November 6th from 4:00-8:00p.m.
Graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 12:00 noon at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Preston County with Lay Minister James Arnold officiating.
