Obituary for Betty Lou Brown

Betty Lou Brown, age 88 of Amherst, VA (formerly of Grafton) passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at the Liberty Ridge Nursing Home.

She was born September 14, 1926 in Grafton, WV a daughter of the late Everett Russell Brown and Stella Mae (Cobb) Brown.

Betty is survived by three daughters, Barbara Haddix and husband, Anthony, of Grafton, Carol Hardin and husband, James ”Jim”, of Smyrna, DE, and Theresa Campbell and husband, Theodore, of Amherst, VA; one son, Danny Taylor and companion, Brenda, of Arrington, VA; fourteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and four-legged companions, Toby and JoJo.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Margaret Funk and Diana Mae Kisner, and two sisters, Ruth Brown and Grace Virginia Orth.

Betty previously worked as a Hairdresser, seamstress, and a paper carrier. She was an avid bowler and loved square dancing.
She was Baptist by faith.

The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Saturday, January 10th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour on Sunday.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor James E. Johnson officiating.
Interment will follow at the Woodsdale Memorial Park Cemetery in Grafton.
