Obituary for Mary E. Bolliger (Phillips)


Mary E. (Phillips) Bolliger, age 96 of Wickwire Road, Grafton, WV passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at her residence with her family by her side.
She was born June 9, 1918 in Grafton, a daughter of the late Emery Lavell and Laura Jane (Rogers) Phillips.

She is survived by three nephews, Robert L. Phillips and wife Ruth, of Grafton, Donnie L. Phillips of Grafton and Charles F. Phillips and wife Sara, of Hundred; two nieces, Velda L. Phillips of Fairmont and June Foley of Newfoundland, Canada; one step-daughter-in-law, Jeanette Bolliger of Conover, NC; two step-grandchildren; and also several great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. “Bob” Bolliger who passed away November 20, 1995; one step-son, Robert L. Bolliger, Jr.; four brothers, James E. Phillips, Odrey L. Phillips, William Brooks Phillips, and Robert “Sam” Phillips; one sister, Elsie M. Bolyard; and one niece, Louise Pheasant.

Mary was employed by Sterling Fawcett in Morgantown where she was an assembler and packer for 26 ½ years and she was a member of the Blueville Church of Christ in Grafton.
Mary enjoyed her family, working in her garden, tending her flowers, and mowing her grass.

The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Friday, November 7th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Saturday.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Minister Will Aleshire officiating.
Interment will follow at the Woodsdale Memorial Park Cemetery in Grafton.
