Darl L. Smith Jr., age 87, of Parma, OH, went into the Loving Arms of our Heavenly Father on Monday, February 24, 2014 at the Parma Community General Hospital. He was born July 23, 1926 in Webster, WV, a son of the late Darl L. Smith Sr. and Lulu Sinsel Smith.


Darl is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Dorothy M. Hines Smith; two daughters: Peggy Campbell and husband Jeffrey of FL, and Carol Harris and husband Mickey of AZ; one son Charles Smith of AZ, one brother Carl Smith, one sister Helen Snyder, five grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents Darl was preceded in death by three sisters: Ruby, Ruth, and Lalah.

Darl grew up in the Grafton area and served his country in the US Navy during WWII. He retired from General Motors Corporation with 40 years of service.
